Just a quick post to say I am now creating wrap scrap trousers, couple of examples are below pop over to Facebook Dark Star Designs or email me if you'd like your wrap scrap turned into clothing. You tell me what you would like, I'll tell you how big a scrap you need or if we need to be a bit creative how we can piece things together. You post scrap to me, I sew and then post your newly created item back to you.

The show was exhausting and amazing in equal measure. I met some lovely stallholders and customers and as a bonus the weather was amazing!

I have decided to go through the testing process so that my Mini Mei Tai's are in future CE certified. I know that many people make them and aren't bothered about CE certification but I have to say I have been looking at it for a while and I think I either need to do it or stop making them. CE marking means that the product has been assessed and meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. EN71 is the EU standard required for toy safety. The MMT competition for the Gnome MMT has been planned for sometime so I am going to go ahead with it while CE testing is carried out for future MMT's . The fabrics on this MMT are tested to CSPIA requirements which is a US standard. I am now looking into hosting this on one of those Facebook app thingymejigs if I can get my brain round them.

The workshop/studio (depends what the day is as to what I call it) is almost ready. It's been a long journey to get here, plans changed and changed and changed again, we live next to a mine shaft and had to build up rather than dig down and disturb anything. The neighbouring cottage has something mine related running underground that was filled in a few years back, I had a strong sense we should go up not down so that's what we did. Pillars were built, frames went up, insulation and roofers and plastererers came and went and I learnt a lot about how much hard work it is to lay electric cables! I am almost in though, I have shelves and a workbench installed and I've even got curtains up today over the french doors, this will enable privacy from prying eyes and also filter the sun away from my precious fabrics . The cutting table plans need to be re-assesed as having the shelves the way we planned to incorporate a cutting area wasn't going to work. I have had to change

Gorgeous Gnomeville fabric with the perfect print placement to make wonderful fun dresses. Currently offering custom slots on this one. Some taggy comforters made for the Here Baby shop in Falmouth, just got some dresses and tops to add to this and I will be in Falmouth which is fabulous. Next goal is to find a shop or two in St Ives and Truro, if anyone knows of a shop who would like to stock some select pieces please email me.
