Beautiful Days 2017

We are going to be at Beautiful Days Festival again in 2017.
So excited, it is one of my favourite festivals rain or shine although obviously prefer the latter!

Hopefully we will be in the same location as last year just over the bridge to the left on the track towards the village shop. Good location for us last year.

I am planning to take my machines and a fabric selection again so I can make to order for you on site, and do a price list for repairs as I ended up doing a few last year.

I will be there with the woolly goddesses from Felt Fusion (amazing hand dyed wool) and Knittastic (gorgeous wool knitted up into garments)

Drawing Wallet Giveaway

The first post and first giveaway on the new blog! As you can no longer do simple giveaways via facebook it has forced my hand and I have set up a blog for the business, something I have been meaning to do for a while so a positive thing and a job crossed off my ever growing to-do list....but now the list has 'edit new blog' tacked onto the bottom of it. This is a prototype of my new drawing wallet, I was testing how the pattern sizes worked in real life and thought it would be nice to give it away. There are 8 slots for crayons, chunky or 2 standard crayola types fit. There is also a little pocket for paper. I will include some paper and they are hole punched in the corner and tied with a piece of ribbon so they stay together or can be ripped off easily. I've been thinking about the sometimes overwhelming gift giving season coming up and wanted to do a blog post about some alternatives to the mountains of plastic that line the shelves and catalogues. Simple Waldorf Crayon Roll Tutorial

Supplies needed. Fabric, preferably upholstery/decor weight or if using quilting cotton sandwich 2 layers together, you could also use interfacing in between. 1. Cut your fabric 28cm * 36cm 2. Fold in the long edges , turn them over twice approx 1cm (just under is better than just over) each time press the folds, pin if needed and using a straight stitch sew along the edge. 3. Fold in the short edges the same way, press, pin and stitch. 4. Fold in the short ends, one end 5cm and the other 7cm. Press and pin. 5. Pin the 5cm folded end approx every 4cm, these will mark out your 6 pockets for the block crayons. Pin the 7cm approx every 3cm, these will mark out your 8 pockets for the pencils/pencil crayons. 6. Stitch from the fold to the seam, doing a few stitches back and forth at the end, this will help secure the stitches. 7.
